colour fields are drawings with Objects
For some time my collection of Cuisenaire rods had been stored and stacked. I revelled in their completeness by organising them into groups of colour and size, I was fascinated by the variations in colour and wear as tools for maths of 1970s primary school or in my case tower building.
It wasn’t until I moved studio that a friend freed me from the constraint of stacking and storing sameness by upending my stacked and divided multiples into one giant chaotic box.
The Colour Fields emerged from a chaotic vat of volume and colour into quilted fields of repetition. The studio process involved a dreamt up unique set of fluctuating constraints and rules and from this process the colour fields emerged.

objects in space : the universe is carnivorous universe
here I am asking objects to collide with a flat plain, attach themselves, possibly even levitate. The board acts like a piece of paper. These works reference my fine art training, my skills and habits of observational drawing, in practice with objects .
I play with asymmetry and balance. Texture, shadows and monochromatic values. Look at them as a still life.

Possible Worlds depend on the mind imagining them
Objects are safe, heard and treasured.
